Monitoring of the Santorini and Nisyros Volcano

A permanent GPS station
A campaign site
Location of the Mogi source responsible for an observed small-scale inflation between 1994-1999

The current network succeded an older  project based on EDM surveys which permitted to identify a small-scale aseismic inflation of the volcano between 1994 and 1999.
2. Nisyros Volcano
A five-point campaign network has been established and measured in the Nisyros island (SE Aegean), characterized by a well-developped caldera and craters of hydrothermal eruptions
A network of five permanent stations and 21 campaign sites covers the Santorini Volcano caldera and permits to measure small-scale ground deformations due to magma flow at depth
This network was established in 2006 in cooperation with Prof. Andrew Newman http://geophysics.eas.gatech.edu/people/anewman/research/Santorini.html
